First a single mom finds a safe place for her son, then invites her sister to find shelter from an abusive home. Both sisters are now working and thriving from the love and resources they found at Laura’s Home.
Aquilla knew she wanted more for her son than just living with friends or in her car, so when her pastor’s wife told her about Laura’s Home she was persistent until they had an opening to welcome them both.
Her first priority was always her son and after seeing him thrive in programs designed to help him, she knew she’d come to the perfect place.
Aquilla says her son loves everything about the Pathways program. “They go on trips. He gets help with his schoolwork. He’s made friends here. He feels safe, and that makes my heart happy.”
It was time to share that support with her sister who was struggling in an abusive relationship. Myketa came all the way from Tennessee to find refuge with her sister in the care of Laura’s Home.
Both are now working full-time for the Marriott, feeling peace in God’s love, and so thankful they found Laura’s Home.
